The problem
Since 28 October 2026, Airzone Cloud refuses commands from outside your home unless you pay €48 a year. You can still see your system. You can no longer control it.
- As far as I know, Airzone applied this subscription in Italy, Spain, France and Portugal.
- Until that day, on my account, I could switch rooms, change temperatures and edit schedules from anywhere. Now the cloud accepts commands only from my home internet connection. Reading still works, and so do the official app and the wall controls at home.
- A six-month trial is offered. After it, the same function that came with the system costs €48 a year, every year.
Why it matters
Remote control is the whole point of a connected system: warming the house before you arrive, switching off what you forgot, lowering everything while you travel. It was part of the system when I bought it, and now it has a price. It hurts most in holiday homes, rented flats and the homes of elderly parents, where you are never present. In my view it is a paywall, not a security measure: it is my account, on my system.
Common questions
Why can't I control my Airzone system from outside my home any more?
The cloud now accepts commands only from your home internet connection, unless a paid plan is active.
Do I have to pay for Airzone Cloud to control my heating away from home?
With the official app, yes: €48 a year.
Is there an Airzone Cloud alternative with no subscription?
Yes: Warmhole, an independent and unofficial project in public beta. A small box at home sends your commands, so the cloud sees them coming from your home.
There is a solution
A €15 box plugged in at home, a free site, about ten minutes. No subscription.
